ESTIMATOR

COMMERCIAL ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR

​Ideal candidate will have previous experience in construction management, be organized, motivated, and detail-oriented. 2 YEAR DEGREE REQUIRED. VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIRED.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be familiar with NEC 

  • Prepare bids for MWEC 

  • Review & evaluate cost estimates

  • Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products

  • Ensure timely completion of estimates

  • Manage bid pricing from all vendors

  • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors

  • Communicate with team members regarding new and current projects 

Project Manager

  • Preparing the site and liaising with other construction professionals such as architects, engineers, buyers, and surveyors before construction work starts

  • Developing the program of work strategy for organized completion of project

  • Planning ahead to prevent problems on site before they occur

  • Making safety inspections of the site when work is underway and ensuring regulations relating to health, safety, and the environment are adhered to

  • Is responsible for billing of projects, close-out procedures, final inspections and billing

  • Knows the electrical code in effect on the job and keeps applicable national, state, and municipal code books on the job

  • Acts as a public relations figure and constantly promotes the company’s image

  • ​Meets with Operations Manager and reviews activity to determine changes in programs or operations as needed.  Implements and follows-through on such changes

ELECTRICIANS

  • Pull wire, terminate panels, disconnect, lighting control panel and etc.

  • Installs conduit systems, various lighting systems, and basic control systems, motor feeders and makes standard motor connections

  • Analyzes blueprints effectively and utilizes such information on jobsite

  • Analyzes upcoming tasks and anticipates equipment, procedures and training needed to complete work in a safe manner

  • Consistently completes tasks on time, within budget, and in a safe manner

  • Provides technical assistance to other field employees as needed

  • Cleans and maintains job site, tools, and vehicles

  • Immediately identifies, corrects, and/or reports any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents in a timely manner

  • Enforces a safe job site and maintains compliance with company safety, OSHA, and customer-specific safety standards

ELECTRICAL HELPER

  • Assists Electrician in installing and repairing wiring, fixtures and equipment aboard ship and in shipyard facilities.

  • Supplies electricians with materials and tools, using hand trucks or carrying material.

  • Measures and cuts pipe conduit to specified length using steel tape and hacksaw

  • Threads conduit ends, using pipe threader, and connects couplings and conduit fittings, using wrench.

  • Fabricates conduit support brackets from strap iron strips, using hacksaw, shaping dies, hammer, and punch

  • Secures brackets to bulkheads with screws and bolts, pulls wire through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels and other terminals

  • Strips insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers

  • Ties or screws wires to terminals for subsequent soldering
